How did you get involved in CrossFit? What was your first WOD/experience?
I first got involved in CrossFit after I was told Kilter was opening and they were having a Open House WOD that weekend. I got a couple coworkers to come with to that first WOD (I think it involved Row/ Pullups/ Pushups and Situps).
When did you start coming to CrossFit Kilter/ how long have you been CrossFitting for?
I signed up with Kilter right after the Open House WOD, I have been coming ever since April 2013.
When did you realize that CrossFit was right for you? !!
I realized CrossFit was right for me right after my first WOD, I signed up right away cause I was hooked. I think I had a reaffirmation about 2 weeks later after my car was T-boned and totaled on my way to work one morning and I was having a hard time telling which parts of my body were sore from CrossFit or the car accident. I was thinking that if I'm more sore from a workout then a car accident this is right up my alley! Plus I got to talk CrossFit the whole ambulance ride to a couple of paramedics who also did CrossFit.
What are you short-term and long-term CrossFit goals?
Short-term: My biggest short term goals right now are to get more consistent with my double unders and string together multiple muscle-ups. Deficit/strict handstand pushups and handstand walks are also something I'm trying to get better at. Other then that I have been trying to improve my form on deadlifts (as Dave and Corrie have both told me I have stripper booty).
Long-term: Long-term I just want to continue to get in better shape. My overall goal since having my daughter is just general health and wellness and I think Kilter has been a huge part of getting me there.  Also I have been watching the show American Ninja Warrior, I would love at some point to at least try out for that.
What is your biggest accomplishment?
In CrossFit it was getting my first ring muscle-up. In Life the birth of my daughter, Teegan.
What is your favorite / least favorite WOD/movement?
Favorite Movements: Now that I can do them, muscle-ups. As far as favorite WOD, anything that includes running.
Least Favorite Movement: Like you have to ask…. burpees, followed closely by deadlift. If you have seen my shins you might think box jumps but I actually enjoy them but I dislike falling off or into them on max height box jumps.
What do you do for a profession outside of CrossFit?
I work as an Asset Resolution Analyst for VW Credit and Audi Financial Services.
What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit?
Are there hobbies outside of CrossFit? I love spending time with my wife and daughter. Golfing and any other sports. I like to do obstacle runs like the Tough Mudder.
What do you do for nutrition? Do you eat Paleo or Zone? What is your favorite paleo/non-paleo meal?
Mostly clean eating, not strictly Paleo. I love to grill, steaks is one of my favorites. My favorite Paleo meal would be my wife's Stuffed Peppers and also her avocado bacon deviled eggs.
Fun fact about you?
I have lost over 60 lbs in the last year and a half. Thanks in large part to CrossFit and healthier eating, I am weighing in at under 200 lbs for the first time since I think I was in high school.
